Glacier National Park
Glacier National Park now requires reservations for entry during peak season (June 13th-September 28th)
All vehicles entering West Glacier need a reservation (one per car) between the hours of 7AM and 3PM. Before 7AM and after 3PM, you can enter the park without a reservation. All reservations are done online at recreation.gov and require picking a hour window for entry. Cost is $2.00.
Reservations open up either a few weeks in advance of desired reservation date as well as the night before your desired reservation date.
The only exception to this rule is when you have a reservation for camping or an activity (horseback rides, tours, etc). Instead, use your proof of campsite/activity purchase in place of vehicle reservation.
Glacier National Park Basics
We highly suggest spending a few days exploring Glacier National Park- it truly feels like another planet. There’s so much to do with plenty of kid-friendly hikes and activities! Mikey loves the mountain goats and Maddie loves the wildflowers. We’d love to give you some of our favorite recommendations :D

The main tourism hub of GNP. The West Glacier entrance requires a reservation to enter. You can access Lake McDonald and Going to the Sun Road through Apgar Village and the West Glacier entrance! Rent kayaks and paddleboards, hang out on the lake, and get some huckleberry ice cream!

GTSR is the main highway that stretches from the west side to the east side of the park. Driving the road to completion takes about two hours, depending on traffic. There are endless stops along the way, with Logan Pass being the most popular. We recommend getting an early start to avoid the big crowds.

East Glacier is about two hours from West Glacier and is one of the most beautiful places on earth, in our opinion. The Many Glacier region is amazing for more remote hiking and backpacking. Bring your bear spray!
